Check out these tips and tricks to get you to the $300 mark and beyond before you know it!

Fundraising FAQ's
My parents want to write a check, how should they do it?
All checks should be made out to Dance Marathon.Please also record the money you have dropped off on the offline donation form.
Are donations tax deductible?
Yes, donations made to Dance Marathon are tax deductible. To get a receipt for a donation, submit the donation in check form to Dance Marathon with a request for a receipt.
What are some of the DM organized fundraising events remaining before the marathon?
Bar Nights at Mitch’s!
- 18 and up are allowed into the bars, 21 and up to drink!
- Bring all your friends and if they say your name at the door, part of their admissions costs will go directly into your dancer account!
Charity Ball on February 6th
- Combines an outrageously fun fundraising event AND a family event for everyone to dress up, boggie down and have a great time.

Fun Ways to Raise Money Individually
- Cook dinner for a group of friends: Invite friends/family to a dinner party and ask if they would like to donate to your fundraising goal. (Great to do with your team if you have connections with the dorms/sorority/fraternity and can have it in a big place)
- Do Laundry for friends: Offer to do laundry for your friends and ask them if they would donate money to your dancer account for your services
- Offer friends massages/pedicures/manicures/hair cuts for a price: Ask for a suggested donation!
- Start a babysitting service: There are tons of families around Ann Arbor- start babysitting and use your profits from babysitting to go into your dancer account!
- Movie Night- charge admissions: This is similar to the dinner party event- make it a fun night for friends/family- have popcorn and watch a good movie- ask for donations!
- Designated Driver- unofficial taxi service: There are so many nights when you don’t feel like walking somewhere because it’s just too cold outside or too far of a walk- if you have a car, offer to drive friends to places or pick them up at night and ask if they wouldn’t mind donating to your account for your service!
- Volunteer for a psychology experiment: Check out the latest psychology experiment- they will pay for you to partake in it. It is an easy and quick way to raise money (check out the psychology department web page).
- Pick up a friend’s groceries: Offer to pick up a friend’s groceries and ask them if they wouldn’t mind donating to your dancer account for helping them out!
- Cleaning service: Notify your friends that you will clean their house for them and ask if they would like to donate money so you can reach your fundraising goals.
- Set up a donation can at home or at work: Ask your boss if you can put a donation can (be creative- make your own!) at the register or desk where you work so customers are able to donate money!
- Make custom fortune cookies/ bracelets/ CDs: This is a fun and crafty way to raise money - ask for donations for your fun project!
- Shovel snow off friend’s driveways.
