Dance Marathon at the University of Michigan is the largest student-run non-profit organization in the State of Michigan. DMUM strives to raise both monetary support and awareness for the needs of pediatric rehabilitation therapies at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor and Beaumont Children's Hospital in Royal Oak. Throughout the year, students raise funds for the therapies in a creative and energetic manner. Teams of 15 to 20 students build a relationship with a particular family of a child supported by C.S. Mott and Beaumont’s rehabilitation therapies. In addition to team-family bonding at DMUM annual events such as Pumpkin Carving, Charity Ball, and Therapy Fair, Dancer Captains facilitate a multitude of other team-family meetings. At the end of each school year, hundreds of students “step into the shoes of the kids” by standing on their feet for 24 hours in a marathon filled with dancing, entertainment, and fellowship.
Thank you to everyone who helped us reach our goal to achieve an all-time total of $5,000,000 FTK with $446,399.57 raised at #DMUM14. Special thank you to the DM Tech Crew, our DJs, our sponsors, student group performers, alumni, and supporters for a great marathon! Finally, thank you for standing with us, dancers! Until next year!
